Why work with me?

  • I’m not only a veteran transgender educator who worked within California public schools as a high school literature, composition, and film teacher, I have been a professional trainer and facilitator for teachers, healthcare providers, and professionals throughout my entire career. I use my extensive and growing (370,000 strong!) online platform to weave expert and concise storytelling within larger messages calling for compassion, empathy, and connection, and I have spoken for audiences ranging from small college fraternities to national professional conferences. In early 2024, I was scouted by education publisher Jossey-Bass to write a comprehensive guide to allyship in the classroom, which is now set to be published Summer 2025.

In a time in which the shape and landscape of LGBTQ+ community, culture, health, and language are constantly shifting, it’s worth learning and working from someone who has lived and experienced almost every corner of it, both personally and professionally. If you choose to join me in one of my workshops, or hope to book me for an event of your own, you can move forward with confidence knowing that you're working with a knowledgeable, battle tested, intersectional community leader.

  • Over the last twelve years, the number of people self-identifying as LGBTQ+ in the United States has more than doubled, from 3.5% in 2012 to 7.6% today. Gen Z, adults born between 1997 and 2012, self-identify at a rate more than twice that of their parent’s generation, at 20%. Even in the face of record anti-LGBTQ+ (more specifically anti-trans) legislation across the nation, the LGBTQ+ population will continue to grow. We are more connected, more affirmed, and more joyful than we’ve ever had the opportunity to be before.

Ignoring this demographic is not only harmful, it’s negligent. We represent a growing market, an increasingly influential voting public, and a customer, student, and patient population that need to be better understood if we’re ever going to work together. The paradigm is shifting, so do you know how to work the clutch?

  • As a teacher and digital content creator, I am deeply and intimately familiar with the realities of the current economy of attention. I’ve been blending education and entertainment to capture the focus of an audience for decades, and my personal story-driven approach has been not just popular, but absolutely vital in the delivery of my memorable and content-rich workshop material. All of my content is backed with extensive and peer reviewed research, and I often use the “story of the numbers” to cement the substance of the message.
